For the month of November I’m looking for a bench with either a message OR an Autumnal theme
(any kind of writing will do, it could be a message, a plaque, a dedication or even a map)
If you would like to join in with the Bench photo challenge then please take a look at my Bench Series page. No complicated rules, just a bench and a camera required 🙂
- Create your own post and title it Bench Series: November
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Add the tag ‘bench series’ so everyone can find the benches easily in the WP Reader
- Get your post in by the end of the month, as the new bench theme comes out on the first Sunday in December.
My Picks of the Week:
Some very exciting messages spotted this week – have a look at Violetsky, Anabel and Elaine for interesting inscriptions. And Dawn is looking Shady this week.
Debbie and a newcomer Junk Boat Travels have benches with a political message, who’d have thought that?
Tish as usual has a bench with a story, can’t keep a good writer down, whilst Judy has the most beautiful commemorative bench that I have seen. I’m sure they’d all love you to pop in and say hi.
As always there are so many delightful benches to view, including several newcomers, I hope you will check out the other links within the comment section.
Me again! 🙂 http://restlessjo.me/2015/11/11/glenridding/
And I spied a new blog in your sidebar. 🙂 🙂 Empty… so far.
You are on the ball! Yes the new blog will go ‘live’ on 23rd November – but the first couple of photos have already been posted on the flower blog so you won’t be missing anything. Thought I’d dedicate a blog to the macro lens so I can experiment. And thank you for the benches. What is it about the Lake villages that is so attractive even in the wet?
Presumably you’ll focus on things other than ‘just’ flowers, or there’ll be a lot of duplication? I wondered what had been keeping you out of mischief 🙂
The stone is lovely, even when wet, isn’t it? I took a couple of close ups but didn’t want to ramble on too much. (I know- doesn’t usually stop me 🙂 )
Yes, hopefully not just flowers, but I won’t post macros of flowers on the other blog, I’m going to keep that for garden visits/walks and the challenge I am going to run next year. Cutting down on blogging as hopefully we will be moving, but I’m still not holding my breath…
You WILL be moving! I have booked a long weekend in August. The guest bedroom will be ready by then, won’t it? 🙂 Joking, of course, Jude, but I’m sure you will.
Gosh Jo you will be more than welcome to stay. There is a shed. 😛
I’ll borrow James’ sleeping bag 🙂 🙂
Another challenge in the offing???? That’s good….
Right up your street I would imagine PP. Hope you had a good holiday with the family, missed you!
I missed my blog friends too. Now I have a few days to catch up with every one before we head off again. Will keep an eye out for your new challenge.
Where to now? Perhaps you need a house-sitter? 😛
Here are a couple of pretty mosaic benches which I just remembered: https://anotherday2paradise.wordpress.com/2015/11/13/bench-series-45-mosaic-benches/
Wow Jude your bench series has really taken off since I’ve been away for 3 weeks. I’ll look forward to catching up with your posts. But in the meantime here is a bench I found in a garden, no autumn leaves or messages, I will be back next week with some of those. Loving your autumn leaves. https://pommepal.wordpress.com/2015/11/14/new-zealand-highlights/
Thanks PP. Nice to have you back 🙂
Good to be back, but only for 10 days Jude, then heading to Sydney.
Ah, reading your comments the wrong way round. A year since I was in Sydney, doesn’t seem that long ago. I’m sure you’ll have fun there, you always do 🙂
This year has flown by. I’m looking forward to Sydney.
Lovely! I’m glad you said it can be an autumnal theme too, that give me more scope 🙂
Well I haven’t found that many interesting benches with a message, though others have!
Here’s an autumnal bench I found in the archives. https://memoriesaremadeofthisblog.wordpress.com/2015/11/15/bench-series-november/
I saw this striking wooden garden bench when visiting Blarney Castle.
Here is the link to my post.

Now that’s an unmissable bench – though I obviously missed it on my visit to Blarney Castle back in 2003. Maybe it is new 🙂
Thank you for the link.
You are welcome. I also love this bench in Central Park http://www.justmeplease.com/new-york-coffee-in-central-park/ which is inscribed with a pattern rather than words. There is something very pleasing about the way it curves around the path and frames the trees.
That is lovely. You should link your walks to Restless Jo’s site (Monday Walks) where you will find walks all around the world in one guise or another. http://restlessjo.wordpress.com/
Thanks for the referral to referral to RestlessJo. I have few posts that will fit with her theme 🙂
I am sure Jo will love to see them 🙂
