Alphabet Bridge

alphabet bridge

Sometimes you can find letters of the alphabetΒ in the most unexpected places, such as in this rail bridge crossing the River Severn in Shrewsbury. What can you see?

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. Wow you’ve excelled yourself with this one Jude. I enlarged the photo and stared and stared, then went to see what others had found!!! Well done Gilly I think you deserve an award…

    1. Thanks Sammy, I only saw a few letters to begin with, but the more you examine the photo (enlarged) the more you can find! I must stop before this becomes yet another obsession!

        1. Fine Sammy, thank you. Busy trying to sort out our move. Looks like it is happening at last! But all the things we need to sort out is stressing me. Wasn’t like this when I was younger and moved constantly!

  2. Looking through the comments it appears some have a more creative vision than others Jude. I’m in for X, V, N and I think some Zs. With refreshments possibly the entire alphabet. πŸ™‚

    1. It looks rather nice in this photo (a little art effect applied). In reality I think it is quite ugly. But good for seeing letters of the alphabet!

  3. decided I let you know what I saw before I read your comments…so as not to cheat πŸ™‚ X, N, L, T…and if I squint I see a T πŸ™‚

    1. Yes, some are more obvious than others. The X and the N show up immediately, but then if you look at the panels it is also easy to spot H, F and E
T and I are sort of there in the uprights, but for Z and K and B and D you have to rotate your head to the left (or rotate the image I guess to the right!) Thanks for popping in Judy, haven’t seen you for ages – busy with the birds I expect πŸ™‚

  4. Great challenge, Jude, to encourage us to look for one thing inside of another. I see X and N clearly, but I’d have to work too hard to see the others! πŸ™‚

    1. X and N were the letters that made me post it. Only afterwards did I see other letters, but not as many as Queen of the Alphabet, Gilly πŸ˜€

  5. Craning my neck in every direction to get all of the letters listed in the comments! I can get X N, M, W, U, I, L & T. Could be here for a while finding the rest πŸ™‚
