Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

    1. I read that as ‘temps’ as in temporary workers!!
I wouldn’t say Australian temperatures here in the south-west as we are not reaching the 30 degrees that other parts of the country are, but it is certainly hot, and dry and sunny. So nice to wear vests and skirts for a change! But do I need to revise my theory again about planting bog garden plants?

      1. I’m chuckling about the “temps” Jude… bog garden could be difficult if you don’t have a reliable, and cheap, source of water. Our water rates are always going up.

        1. Reliable here is the rain! Unusual to be this dry. And my soil remains wet (or did). So I ruled out the Mediterranean planting scheme. Now I am not so sure.

    1. Great shade! I have been sitting outside in the shade all morning, reading a book, occasionally getting up to do a bit of dead-heading, but too hot to do very much. Keep thinking I should be visiting gardens, or the beach, but I crave shade and this harsh light is not the best for photos.

  1. What a brilliant roof. I certainly need the shade at moment. Just hoping the Wedding marquees are not too hot tomorrow and Saturday!

      1. Think yourself lucky. It’s cool here. Nice start but the cloud rolled in at lunch time. I knew it was too good to last. Glad Andrew saw it at it’s best and I wasn’t distracted from the housework. Did watch a bit of Kerber/Wozniaki though. 🙂 🙂

        1. Good matches today, some of the others have been boring. Not that I have seen many. Viewing gone OK? You are having the sort of fog we got during the May heatwave.

  2. Yours? In search of shade indeed. I remember not long ago when you were in search of sun, with a bit of which I could do with here. Warm sun, that is. J has even more interest in it since his energy is totally solar.

    1. I don’t have the skin for being a sun bather Meg. As a child I went from white to red to white, with a lot of pain in between. So as an adult I prefer to sit in the shady areas. But, oh, boy is it good to see the blue sky and sun every day.
