Flashback Friday #14

This post was originally published on April 02 2015 to celebrate Easter windows for the monthly challenge hosted by Dawn from ‘The Day After’ and appropriately in time for Good Friday this year! Happy Easter everybody!

“Walking around Ludlow before Easter you can’t help noticing all the sheep and fluffy chicks and eggs adorning the window displays in the town.

The bookshop, sweetshop and even the coffee shop have a spring feeling

The florist is a bit steamed up…

Emporos always puts on a good display, no matter what the theme. It’s actually a GOOD thing that my grandchildren live so far away or I’d spend a fortune in this shop. I mean, can you resist that velvet rabbit?

And spring flowers in tubs add colour to the charm of the town

…even artificial ones!”

This post is a contribution to Fandango’s Flashback Friday. Have you got a post you wrote in the past on this particular day? The world might be glad to see it – either for the first time – or again if they’re long-time loyal readers.

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. I’m sure I remember this one. Hope you have a great Easter, Jude. Very cold here, with snow forecast for Monday! I was in shorts two days ago, with all the windows in the house open. Now the central heating is on again!
    Best wishes, Pete. x

  2. oh this is just so lovely, miss the days of looking round in the lead up to Easter – still next year we can spoil the grandchildren and ourselves 😀

    1. I’m not a shopping person, but I did like to window browse. I think it is six months since I even went into a town, let alone shop!

    1. I am going to make a Stollen tomorrow (I know, usually for Christmas) but I have all the ingredients so why not! Poor Ludlow. I wonder how many of these shops will have survived.

  3. Those ranunculas are gorgeous, perfect pastel colours for Easter. As we head further into autumn and then winter, I’ll be enjoying all your lovely spring and summer flowers. Happy Easter to you!

    1. Thanks Carol. At least it should be quieter down here this week as people are still not supposed to be traveling out of their local area, or staying overnight.

    1. That was the nice thing about Ludlow, they were always having window competitions – Easter, Christmas, the food festival. Made for some interesting and quirky displays.
