This month is not about creating black and white photographs, but in finding the true blacks or greys in a colourful world.
Cheeky Grey Squirrel in Cape Town’s Company Gardens. They were introduced by Cecil Rhodes in 1890. These are larger than their European counterparts and the Gardenβs oak trees and plenty of water channels offer a perfect habitat. They are fairly habituated to humans and will eat out of your hand;Β you can find someone to sell you a packet of peanuts with which to feed them.“Is this my best side?”“All good things come in threes” – Crested Pigeons, Australia
I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

The squirrel appears mostly brown to me, bless him, but ever so cute.
Must be your screen! He has brown on his face and paws and in his tail, but mostly grey. π

Nice gallery!
Thank you.
and after I do mine I see your great Crested Pigeons photo. I wondered if I would have any greys in nature so I had a bit of a look π
I like the crested pigeons. I don’t remember ever seeing one.
Best wishes, Pete.
Mainland Australia. I don’t think you find them anywhere else.
Those pigeons are much cuter than our mourning doves. π
