I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

They do go in for swish signs, don’t they?βI like that combination with the green shutters behind.βAnd I’m sure Brian must have a duck like that in his collection.βHappy Sunday, Jude!
I wonder why we don’t have such fun signs?

I’m commenting via the Reader, as your site won’t let me do so, saying (wrongly) that I am not logged in. I love these quirky and characterful signs. Yes, the duck might win first prize for charm, the shutters for character.
Ah, that’s happened to me a few times lately, if you go back to the site and refresh the page, it usually allows you to comment. I copy what I have said first.
So do I. I learnt the hard way. I’ll have another go at Page Refreshing too.
Lovely gallery Jude π The duck made me smile, the watch is pretty cool, great signs and lights. Come Monday also bang it on Monday Window, some great windows especially the green shutters π
The giant Swatch is fun. Advertising the jazz festival I think.
All great finds and you showcased them so well.βThat swatch, though!
You just can’t help photographing these quirky signs.
Quite. π
I love these details, especially the first set of shutters. I think my favourite has to be the cat sign at the top though – I’m a ‘cat person’! π
I love shutters. I guess we don’t have enough warm weather for them to be popular here.
Maybe we’ll need them in future!
Great gallery!
Thanks Sue. An eclectic mix.
I liked seeing the shutters. When I first visited Europe (France) aged 11, I was fascinated by painted shutters that seemed to be everywhere.
Best wishes, Pete. x
I love the hanging signs and Iβve not seen anything quite like the watch.
Advertising the jazz festival.
Perfect postcards – love that cat especially
