THIS WEEK, IN A POST CREATED SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS CHALLENGE,Β SHARE A SELFIE.
I don’t do ‘selfies’, I don’t even like anyone else taking my photo let alone myself. I don’t do ‘facebook’ or ‘twitter’ or even have a smartphone, and for someone who has a degree in computer science I am a bit of a technophobe – or maybe it’s just that I don’t do sharing… except on here of course. Β Among friends.
If you would like to see what others have come up with for this challenge then go to the Daily Post @ WordPressΒ Weekly Photo ChallengeΒ

Great to see:) I have thought about the same thing, taking a photo of my shadow… Let’s see how I succeed.
Haha, this was taken by accident, I was holding the camera and accidentally pressed the button! I was going to delete it, but it has come in useful. I hope you get some sunlight to be able to actually have a shadow!
I hope so too, but I do have some already. I have been shooting some shadows earlier.
Jude, you do make me laugh. So which one are you, left or right.
I’m the one with the camera, obviously π
That’s a great way round the ghastly trend for selfies – I hate them too. How much more narcissistic can we get, I wonder.
I almost skipped this challenge, then remembered this shot from a very windy Wales – hence the rather bulky jackets. I’m not really like a sack of spuds, or at least that is what I keep telling myself π
Iβm not really like a sack – O.K.
π π
Jude, just seen this….great! Love your sense of humour….And I completely agree about not liking this trend for ‘selfies’.
astonishing isn’t it? People taking photos of themselves all the time, and not of their surroundings even. I wonder where it will all end? And now I am sounding like my mother…
I have been thinking exactly the same, apropos sounding like mother! I blame it on the whole celebrity culture thing, 21st century narcissism -there, I do sound like my mother
I think the whole ‘ME’ thing started with Maggie Thatcher and has grown progressively worse since!
I think you’re onto something there, Jude…
Shadow + Selfie =’Shelfie’. It’s a whole new trend Jude!
Regards as always, Pete. x
Ah, I always wanted to be a trendsetter π
By the way Jude, isn’t the picture accompanying your comments the original selfie? x
I was hoping no-one would notice that! But yes it is, I guess, though not taken with one of those smart things that have a camera at the front and back. It was a mirror shot. I had to produce an image for a travel piece that was published a while back; reluctantly I submitted this π
But unless I get accidentally caught in a reflection, I do try to avoid being photographed by anyone!
Fun image,Jude. You’re not giving much away. π
I thought I was giving an awful lot away Sylvia – AWFUL and A LOT being precise π
I really must do more exercise…
Ah yes, maybe, Jude. My shadow is stick-like. Must be the gym and all the cheese cake and chocolate. π
I am obviously not eating enough chocolate or cheesecake then! Or maybe I should wait until the late evening shadows appear π
That would work. π
I have to admit I thought this a rather boring challenge, Jude (until I saw yours π )
It was a somewhat difficult challenge, I thought, not being of the selfie generation. But I rose to it π
π
Hmmmmmmmm. I was hoping for at least a clue !
I’m the one with the cute smile π
π Of course! π
Fun shot Jude – quite the odd challenge this week but some very fun entries π including yours!
Thanks Tina! Amusing to see how many of us who are photographers (though I don’t count myself in the same class as you are) avoid the traditional selfie – though as Beetleypete points out we do have selfies as our avatars!!
