To my Aussie family and blogging mates, fire up the barbie, crack open a slab, turn up the Triple J top 100 and have a bonza day!
No matter how far or wide I roam, I still call Australia home…
I wish!

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

Hope everyone has a wonderful time. 🙂
I’m sure they will. Only wish I was there to join in 😀
Beautiful!
Thank you 🙂
Love that lead photo Jude! Amazing capture of the cute Koala. 🙂
I rather think he looks like a lot of Aussies will feel like on Tuesday – “oh, no, leave me alone and let me sleep”
Awww, he’s almost as cute as your grandbaby 😊
almost Sammy… almost 😀
I’ll do the best I can, lots of flag waving…but those refugees..on Manus…?
Dee Why pool Gerard. I bet it is busy there today!
So do I …
Have a glass of Sav Blanc on my behalf M-R. It’s a bit too chilly for the cold white stuff here! (Or should I say it IS cold enough for the white stuff here). And besides I am having a dry January. Roll on next Sunday!!
I’ll think of you when I’m enjoying my lamb roast and pavlova!
Oh! I love lamb roast and pavlova! (Though someone told me that actually pavlova is from kiwi land 😉 )
I bet a New Zealander told you that. They’re always trying to take the credit for things! (LOL) It was invented by an Australian chef in honour of the ballerina Anna Pavlova. http://www.aussie-info.com/identity/food/pavlova.php
Of course I knew you’d say that, but then the Kiwis told me that you Aussies are always stealing their creations 😉
“The nationality of its creator has been a source of argument between the two nations for many years, but formal research indicates New Zealand as the source.” Wikipedia
Ha! I was going to offer to share with you, but now I don’t think I will.
Oh, go on, spoilsport. You know it will reduce the amount of calories you take in if you give me a piece 🙂
Have you been reading https://theadventuresofjustinbeaver.wordpress.com/
No I hadn’t, but I have now 😀
Very, very cute!
I’m guessing my little Aussie chappy will be in this pool later today (well, it is today there!)
and already hot and sunny unlike here 🙂
…well apparently not as hot and sunny as we might think!
I had no idea what day it was today. Happy Australia Day! ❤
Well, unless you are Australian I don’t think anyone else in the world would know either Tess!! 😀
😀 😀 😀
I’m just playing n.i.c.e. I don’t know half of what goes on around me–closer at hand. Sigh. ❤
Cool morning here today in Melbourne – roast lamb in the oven today I think! Not that cold really – hopefully going to reach 21c. Just a little respite from the 30+s we’ve had recently
Cathy
That sounds about the temperature I would like. Good for the tennis 🙂
And what’s all this with the lamb? Is that a traditional dish on this holiday? I imagined you all to be throwing the prawns and the snags on the barbie 😛
Prawns on the barbie?! I think that was an advertiser’s dream.
I don’t know anyone who puts them on the barbie – snags and lamb chops yes, hamburgers yes, fish even but prawns no.
Lamb was grown here right from the word go – lots of fortunes made off the sheep’s back in the last century.
I bet my son has!! He has moved on to lamb chops now though 😀
