Something else I love to photograph are plants. Specifically flowers, but a strong structural plant will catch my eye too. I do have a separate blog for my floral passion, but today, the third day of the B&W challenge I shall post one here.
(Compare with the colour version)
Pauline of Gypsy Life and Memories are made of this has invited me to join in with this challenge. If you don’t know Pauline (Pommepal) then you are missing a treat. Living in Australia Pauline is always on the move with her lovely Jack by her side.
There are only two rules for this challenge:
- On 5 consecutive days, create a post using either a past or recent photo in B&W.
- Each day invite another blog friend to join in the fun.
Today I would like to nominate Sherri to join in. Of course this is only if you have the time and want to.
Sherri blogs from her summerhouse and is an excellent writer, especially in flash fiction. She does take a mean photograph too so I hope she will find the time to participate
Absolutely stunning!
Thanks Aletta, my love of succulents and aloes comes from my time in SA.
Lovely in B&W, Jude. The detail is wonderful. 🙂
Jude, I love this particular nature pattern. I’ve tried to tangle it, but haven’t nailed it quite yet.
It would be a very interesting tangle! (Not to mention difficult!!)
This is my favourite so far, AND you got a plug in for the other blog 🙂 Are you building to the big crescendo with no. 5? The texture effect works well on this.
When did you go to Switzerland, Jude? (I forgot to ask on the last post and remembered after I’d pressed Post Comment. A bear of very little brain these days. 🙂
😀 😀
Tomorrow’s is very different.
I was in Switzerland in 2009 for a week – Geneva and then Montreux. It was good to revisit Geneva as I was an au pair there when I was 18 yrs old! A long time ago 😛
Brilliant addition of texture to texture 😊
Haha… too true Gilly. I am having fun with this challenge as it is so open.
That processing suits the plant so well Jude! Great texture 🙂
Very different from what I am used to seeing here Jude. I like the processing and of course am imagining what the original looks like. 🙂
I’ll have to post the original sometime on the flower blog.
Fab! That was very stunning to see take shape in my Reader as I scrolled down.
Interesting details. Nicely done.
PS If you don’t mind me saying, the yellow background you are using is a bit harsh on (my) retinas.
I don’t mind you saying that at all LD, but you are the first to dislike it (or at least to tell me). Most find it cheerful. I have been thinking of a change though.
🙂
Just a bit bright on my eyes as I mostly sit in a darkened room when viewing the computer. I just toned down the brightness temporarily whilst reading your blog. So not a major problem.
Good to know. Yes I can imagine it being rather full-on in the dark.
That is a perfect choice Jude, the design shows up so much better when the colour is stripped out it is then all about the shape and pattern.
Nature has some amazing shapes and patterns.
You have an eye for the detail Jude
