I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling. View all posts by Heyjude

The orange colour splash works well in this one Jude. And the shutters suit the theme nicely.
Regards as always, Pete. x
Love the splash on orange on b & w. Words are a bit deep and frightening. Not your state of mind I hope.
No, not at all 😀
The building is a lot prettier in colour, but when I converted it I felt a much darker mood. Hence the poem 🙂
Good to know. 😉
Good one! I wondered about that too 🙂
The words match the photo so well!
I hope the dark mood has passed.
😀
Love this Jude! So emotional and the splash of orange just emphasizes the angst of the piece!
Thank you! I tried to come up with something a little different this week 🙂
You managed very well! 🙂
Great photo, and poem – they go so well together.
many thanks Elaine 🙂
I was so focused on the washing I didn’t see the broken shutter, Jude, but I did spot the haiku 🙂 Well done you! Love the moodiness of the photo.
Poetic licence ❓
Excellent departure, Jude….. Poem goes very well with the image, and I love your use of monochrome with a splash of colour…..
Thank you Sue, felt I wanted to mix it up a bit and I like to post a single image occasionally.
Excellent! I go the other way – usually single images, so I need to mix it up a bit perhaps!
I like this shot good job
Love the splash of color. Contrasts so well with the bright outside world to the darkness behind broken shutter. I like this a lot! ❤
Thank you Tess, your comment means a lot to me 🙂
You are welcome, Jude and I concentrated so much at the picture I forgot mention your poem is fantastic. ❤
Hey cool haiku Jude, go girl x:-)x
Why thank you, Queen of the Haiku 🙂
Love the splash of color you have chosen Jude. I love seeing laundry hanging like this, especially if I was not involved in the washing.
Funny how washing abroad looks much more photogenic than washing at home. I wouldn’t dream of photographing my neighbours bits and pieces on the line 😉
