The new January Squares challenge, hosted as ever by Becky, the Queen of Squares, is all about ____light. In this often dull month light of any kind is what we all need to lift our spirits as we wait impatiently for spring to begin. Click on the link to find out more.
Flight
Douglas C-47 Skytrain or Dakota is a military transport aircraft
Flight (noun) = the action or process of flying through the air
I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

Nice positioning of the plane, Jude. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete. x
I have a photo of it close up, but I prefer the colour of the sky here and how it appears to be flying towards you. Thanks Pete, hope your WP troubles have been sorted out 👍
Great Photo, Great Aircraft. More than 10,000 DC-3/C-47/R4D aircraft were produced. The aircraft served in every war from WWII through the Vietnam conflict, Flew on most of the major airlines of the time, flew “Over the Hump” into China, and was a key aircraft used in the Berlin Airlift.
Thank you for the information 🙂
The light in the sky is very pretty too.
I liked the light too!
Love the sky, highlighted by that plane.
The sky is truly lovely in this image and makes it I think.
I love it, Jude. Wonderful negative space and a great plane
Thanks Debbie, this one seemed to work better than one I zoomed in on.
Love the way it appears to be drawing up the cloud below
