Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

    1. The manor itself is closed due to flooding over the winter, but I was there for the garden, of course. We did have a sandwich in the tea room, no cake on that occasion.

    1. Avebury is more famous for the stone circles, but the manor house and gardens are an additional attraction.

    1. The stone circles are the main reason for visiting Avebury, but the garden here is rather lovely. The manor is currently being repaired after flooding in February.

        1. I’m not sure when it opened. Certainly wasn’t on my previous visit which must have been early 2000s

    1. Well I think it would be difficult to get around the stone circles, but the village and the manor house are probably accessible.

    1. To be honest the reason I visit NT places is always for the gardens. We sometimes go into the house if there is one and it is open, but I’m not hugely keen.

    1. Ah, yes I saw that in your post and I was going to mention it when viewing it on the computer, and then forgot. Which reminds me that I still have a post to write on post boxes in Gibraltar.
