I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling. View all posts by Heyjude

I would say ‘a typical English scene’, but judging from most of the comments I’ve heard recently, grey skies and pouring rain are much more typical. (though not so photogenic)
We’ve been lucky here, for a change. Extremely windy over the weekend, but plenty of sunshine since.
Good xx
Beautiful!
It’s a very scenic county. I was pleasantly surprised.
Lovely. Is that near Becky’s new gaff?
Closer to her previous one probably. A spit away from Stonehenge.
That’s a lovely rural scene, Jude. Looks even better enlarged.
Best wishes, Pete. x
The view from the B&B we stayed in n Wiltshire.
Very pretty!
Very, very quiet too. We had a lovely room overlooking this scene. And wonderful breakfasts too. Only real problem was that there was nowhere close to eat in the evening, the pub on the estate was a tad expensive!
Hmm, that is a bit of a problem!
So pretty. We stayed in a few places similar to this.
There are some lovely rural places in Britain, though the downside is not having anywhere close by for the evening meal. Having to drive means not being able to have a glass or two of wine. Saying that the alcohol free lagers are not too bad.
Looks like a lovely area to stay in – and so lush and green! (It’s getting to feel a bit ratty here now that we have wind and rain.)
It was a lovely B&B and very close to the A303 so convenient for exploring, would have been nice if there had been a pub or two in the village.
Pubs are a huge asset to anywhere you might visit…we like to eat in them if we’re away from home.
