During July I will be joining in with Becky’s SimplyRed Squares.

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling. View all posts by Heyjude

I especially like the simplicity of this photo.
Good strong lines and colours.
wow, feels like a technicolor film set
Yep. Need your sunnies 😎
That’s a sock you in the eye one! Happy Saturday, Jude xx
Yes. They weren’t quite like this when I lived there. Very much given a new lease of life.
Aren’t they cute. We don’t have a lot of beach huts here, although there are some nice ones in Melbourne.
They are very useful for getting changed in. English ones often have mini kitchens, and some allow sleeping. I can’t think of any in Cornwall though 🤔
Oh yes! Love a colourful beach hut. And I had always thought them so English.
Not sure when these were built, but the cape is more English than a lot of SA.
Such vibrant colours… love it. As well as how it was cropped.
Was a popular spot for fashion shoots.
Wow! How colourful are they?
Brilliant aren’t they? Imagine the whole row of them.
Absolutely!
You can always rely on beach huts when looking for something colourful. Those featured are exceptionally well looked after.
Best wishes, Pete. x
These ones do draw in the tourists to the beach. When I lived there the huts were very different, but actually in use. I’m not sure these are. I have seen some in England that are a bit dull.
I love the bright colour blocks in this image! But for some reason I misread your caption at first and thought that they were ironic beach huts 😀
Ironically in 2017 the Muizenberg beach huts were almost removed. There were claims of “safety risks” and “anti-social behaviour”. The huts were being used for prostitution and were utilized by criminals in mugging beachgoers. Luckily locals rallied round and renovated them.
Love these colorful beach huts. 😊
Looks like a box of children’s crayons were used.
It does. Bold colors, for sure.
