During July I will be joining in with Becky’s SimplyRed Squares.

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

    1. They are very useful for getting changed in. English ones often have mini kitchens, and some allow sleeping. I can’t think of any in Cornwall though 🤔

  1. You can always rely on beach huts when looking for something colourful. Those featured are exceptionally well looked after.

    Best wishes, Pete. x

    1. These ones do draw in the tourists to the beach. When I lived there the huts were very different, but actually in use. I’m not sure these are. I have seen some in England that are a bit dull.

  2. I love the bright colour blocks in this image! But for some reason I misread your caption at first and thought that they were ironic beach huts 😀

    1. Ironically  in 2017 the Muizenberg beach huts were almost removed. There were claims of “safety risks” and “anti-social behaviour”. The huts were being used for prostitution and were utilized by criminals in mugging beachgoers. Luckily locals rallied round and renovated them.
