I had this photo in mind right from the beginning of the challenge, but decided to use it for the end. A family portrait taken at Christmas 2011 with four of the grandchildren. Now there are eight, but chances of getting them all together is very slim.
Once again thanks to Becky for another interesting challenge – the only rule being that at least one photo must be SQUARE!
I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

That photo is fantastic. I can see why you saved it for last.

Fortunate that she was wearing a red coat.
The best one for last. That’s such a happy photo, Jude.
Happy days.
That’s such a lovely memory, Jude! What a happy band! Love the splash of red xx
That was a very memorable Christmas – very cold and very grey except for one day! But lots of fun too.
And a bit of a landmark xx
a beautiful way to finish – such an adorable and happy photo. Thanks for joining me again for squares, can’t believe we’ve been doing this 8 years now
Ah, yes, the flowers. I am always happy to join the square gang.
you’re a founding member of the gang xx
How gorgeous. I’m sure my camera has this function but I’ve never tried it. I hope you do manage to get all the grandies together some time.
Doesn’t seem likely as they range between 5 yrs and 27 yrs in two different countries. I don’t think even all the English ones have met!
What a gloriously happy photo, and a brilliant splash of red. That’s clever!
Haven’t a clue how to do that now. But there is most likely an app for it!
On my Fuji cameras, it is in the Menu under ‘Effects’. Then ‘Single Colour’, then choose from the available colours.
I did this using photoshop elements, it was quite complicated. I will check if my camera has this effect.
I have just discovered that my phone has a spot colour setting.
Probably.
I love this!
Lovely happy family Jude. Love that splash of red.
Great use of the one-colour effect, Jude. Spielberg did that in his film ‘Schindler’s List’.
Best wishes, Pete. x
I can see why you saved this for last, it’s such a happy photo to end with, and that splash of red is fantastic!
