The Tsitsikamma Forest

Returning to Cape Town from seeing the elephants at Addo, once again we were travelling along the Garden Route, this time stopping in a different area to explore more of this lovely country. Surely the name alone will entice you to visit.

Come along and see what you are missing… comments as usual are welcome on the original post. See you there 🙂

Tsitsikamma

Loads of Ellies

We weren’t travelling along the Garden Route simply to explore it, beautiful though it is, no, there was an actual destination in mind – Addo Elephant Park – where we would spend the next two nights inside the park in a rondavel overlooking a waterhole. And hopefully seeing some of Africa’s wildlife close up.

So which wild animal has had you enthralled?

Road Trip: Route 62 – Wine and Roses

After spending five days in Cape Town it was time to head for the road and the Garden Route, one of the most spectacular regions in South Africa.

I hope you’ll join me on this journey, it is not the usual route that tourists take to get to the Garden Route – comments welcome on the original post.

Do you like taking alternative routes?

A Table and a Tablecloth

In Cape Town one thing dominates the horizon, and that is Table Mountain – not Table Top as I have heard it called, but simply Table. There are several such named mountains in the world, but only one with views like this one.

Make sure you get up to the top if the weather is good – you won’t regret it.

Road Trip: Cape Town to Hermanus

Before leaving the Cape Peninsula I decided to take a drive along the coast of False Bay and then head east to Hermanus, a town I have been to frequently and a favourite spot for Capetonians.

Have you seen whales in the wild? Gone diving with sharks? Or maybe just done a spot of kite-surfing?
