Travel Theme: Silver

Ailsa of “Where’s My Backpack?” is serving this week’s theme on a SILVER platter. If you would like to join in with her challenge then please do. Everyone is welcome.

Sunbeams shining
on the sea
silvery light
for me

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

      1. You and me both, but I’m determined to come up with something, even if it’s only by virtue of using SilverEfex!!

    1. I think using SilverEfex is a brilliant idea! Almost as good as my original one to use a flower with silver names. (I couldn’t find any!)

      1. Mrs Wilmott’s Ghost is a plant with silvery leaves. And years ago, I bought my parents a rose bush with silver in the name (darned if I can remember now) for their Silver Wedding…..

        1. Love the name Mrs Wilmott’s Ghost! I bought yellow rose bushes for my parents golden wedding anni – imaginatively named ‘Golden Anniversary’ 🙂

        2. Miss Wilmott, by all accounts, was a very forthright lady. She thought her own ideas were the only ones worth following and would collect the seeds if this particular plant and sprinkle them in friends’ gardens. Lo and behold, later in the year they would get a surprise, discovering a rogue plant in their garden…hence Miss Wilmott’s Ghost……

  1. The light on the sea is really good, almost other-worldly. The more you concentrate on it, it could be stars, or the lights of a distant city.
Cut out the foreground, and it would also make a great abstract.
Nice one here Jude, and silvery too!
    As ever, Pete. x

    1. No flood Jenny, this was taken at a beach on Vancouver Island in the early morning sunshine, the light just caught the water beautifully.

  2. Are your blogs all combined on here now, Jude, or are there still separate ones? Sorry if I’m dense- blame it on the flu 🙂 Pretty poem!

    1. Hi Jo, all except for the flower blog are combined on here. Thought it would make life easier to have all my travel photos and words in one. Please let me know what you think of it. The flower one is an entirely different genre, although I have been posting about some gardens around the world recently.
Hope you feel better soon – colds, flu are horrible!

      1. It’s a lot easier, Jude, and I love the look of it. Haven’t had time to mooch around yet but I will. 🙂
I was all set to change mine for Six word Saturday this week but chickened out. I have 2 new styles I like the look of, but there are disadvantages to both. Basically I like the look I have, and I’d need to revamp both and make myself a lot more work. One day I’ll bite the bullet.
