You are not on your own – I thought he was from around here too, especially with the town of Telford nearby! I suppose he is famous here because all his early engineering works were in and around Shropshire. In fact (and don’t tell M-R this either) I thought he had built Ironbridge!

Well he was a great civil engineer and he was from Scotland so I suppose this is true 🙂
