I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

Really? I had no idea about the tap water in London. It would never have crossed my mind.
Well I don’t know if you drink tap water or bottled water, but ‘they’ say that the water in London has passed through at least 25 people! Saying that in 1997 US researchers tested 1,000 bottles under 103 brand names and concluded that “one cannot assume on faith, simply because one is buying water in a bottle, that the water is of any higher chemical quality than tap water”.
We DO drink tap water here and it IS good. Another city I lived in long ago, in summer when it was hot, it tasted like swamp water and no way would anyone drink it then. I buy bottled water only to have on hand for emergencies. I had some a few years ago that was s.a.l.t.y. What? Salty spring water? I don’t know what THAT was about. I don’t like all those plastic bottles around so I drink tap water.
I quite agree. What is it with the plastic bottles? As a lot of things it started as a fashion accessory! Super cool to be seen drinking bottled water. Now thank goodness even restaurants offer you tap water, a few years ago it was always a bottle!
Thinking of all that plastic makes me shiver in distress. Too much! Everywhere.
And, I should think, you will continue to do so ! 😀

Looks fantastic, the kind of thing that could go mainstream. Is it an expensive system, is there a smaller scale version available? And the big question, can you use the compost ? 🙂

I couldn’t resist the poster as it was Earth Day 😀
There is an urban legend that the water we drink has already gone through seven other people! But according to the guy on ‘Food Unwrapped’ we’re drinking the same water that the dinosaurs drank. Somehow that doesn’t seem so bad.
As long as it is clean, who cares! I only wish everyone in the world had access to clean drinking water 😦
