I looked for a boater in my Cambridge, Oxford and even Venice photos, but not one! So here are some hats for sale in a darling little courtyard in Franschhoek, South Africa. And if you haven’t been there then you are missing a real treat.

Travel Theme: Hats

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling. View all posts by Heyjude
Perfect photos Jude! I like the treatment (watercolour?) too.
I think I used a dry brush effect on these!
what af fun way to display hats – reminded me of a plate display at first – 🙂
That’s what it looked like! The colours were great, if I was a hat person I would have had to buy at least one.
yes, I am not a hat person either – but same here – I would have had to buy at least one
So do you wear hats, Jude? I can’t because my head is too big!! 🙂
Hah! I have a small head, but big hair! Although I have recently had my hair cut very short so not so big now 😉
And no, I am not a hat person unless it is very, very cold (I get earache easily) or very, very hot! I have typical Celtic fair skin that burns.
Oh well, at least big hair can be flattened, Jude! In my case, even a large hat doesn’t fit me. It sits precariously at the tippy top of my head, looking very foolish indeed!! I do wear wool caps in winter though, now that you mention it. At least they stretch. 🙂
That’s a shame. I’m rather partial to a boater (hence the reason I own one).
These are not bad, though. 🙂
