Becky’s September square photo challenge Day eight! She would like us to share photos which embrace ‘pink’ – there could be pink in the photo, the subject or photographer could be ‘tickled pink’*, or indeed looking ‘in the pink’*. A photo that manages to do all three things is the ultimate offering.
'Painted Lady' - San Francisco
*‘in the pink’ means in perfect condition, or in good health, and ‘tickled pink’ means delighted.

I love seeing homes painted in different colours.
Me too!
I like the shape of those windows, but I’d have to pull those curtains open and let the light stream in. 🙂 🙂
Well spotted, I wonder why they are all drawn like that?
Someone doesn’t like the sun. Or want the furniture to fade? 🙂 I don’t much like curtains and I hate blinds.
Mainly blinds here, but I rarely use them. Fortunately we are not really overlooked. Except when my neighbour is out on her balcony which she had built whilst we were away.
Grr…
Hee! Hee! The only neighbour for miles? 🙂
We are in a courtyard so have a few neighbours and in a hamlet so about a dozen or so houses, but I can only see one other.
People to celebrate Christmas with! 🙂 I know! I know! Bah, humbug! 😦
What a lovely facade…
And facade it is, usually the rest of the building is quite bland. I’d love to have had a peek inside one of these houses though.
Oh, OK…but it would have been interesting, as you say!
That reminds me of the pink houses in Notting Hill, and Primrose Hiil. Parts of London where old houses are often painted in quite bright colours.
Best wishes, Pete. x
A nice subtle shade of pink.
I would have liked to have seen the Painted Ladies when we were in SF, but there just wasn’t time.
Never enough time, but at least you can go back quite easily. A pretty short flight if I remember well.
Very true – though we have so many other places ‘near by’ that we want to visit too.
Very true. Have you dared to pop over the border yet?
No. 🙂 We did think about it a while back, but it seems a potentially protracted passage by car through border control, so we decided against it.
I love those rounded windows — not quite sure about the shade of pink, but quite tasteful compared to some houses here. Especially when I was a kid and really bright turquoise was “the thing.”
Better than the bright pinks! I rather like blue houses, but would prefer a stone built house with blue wooden shutters.
Much better than bright pink! I rather like charcoal-y colours and very dark blue. Not much chance of a stone house for me here.
Mine is built from granite so it sparkles. No shutters though. I have thought about them 😉
That sounds lovely — even without shutters. But if you did decide to add them … painted pink perhaps 😉
That’s such a funky home!
They do look rather lovely in a row. Different colours.
Ooh Saturday was the day of pink houses. This is by far my favourite though.
Probably by far the most expensive. I think these Victorian houses go for several million dollars!
Yikes!
I love the windows and the pink’s okay too, just note sure about the two together!
It probably looks better if you see the whole house.
I like it a lot!
