The Potting Shed

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

I love rusty derelict buildings!
Me too, though this is actually quite okay inside. A lovely little potting shed, complete with bench and terracotta pots. Would suit me very well 🙂
Oh, it would make the perfect potting shed! 🙂
Such a shame I can’t bring it home with me.
It’s a perfect potting shed. Can you borrow it?!
Only if I can borrow the garden it is in too!
This is one of my favorite roofs this week!
Thank you!
What is it about rusty sheet iron? I just love it. And this is a great shot with the plant life coming out in sympathy in like shades.
It was the plants vs the roof that caught my eye for this composition Tish. I love corrugated roofs and the sound of rain on them, though this one might let in a bit too much.
I agree!
I wondered if anyone would feature some corrugated iron. You could sit inside, listening to the rain hammering on the metal. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete. x
I’d love that! One thing I do like about the polycarbonate roof on my conservatory, the rain hammering down on it! Not so keen on the leaks though 😦
Loving the roof btw. Colours are gorgeous in your shot.
What a wonderful building snuggled down in green, and magnificent roof colours. Rusty iron rulz, as Tish indicated
Oh, I love this. Let’s take it and make it into a writing/craft studio. I can see us sitting inside, cup of tea on the side, working away.
Now that is a brilliant idea! Mine’s coffee by the way 😀
I’ll have coffee in the morning and tea after lunch. Oh, and we will need some tasty cake. I’ll bring an orange syrup cake, seeing as our orange tree is loaded with delicious fruit.
Orange syrup cake! Sounds yum. Recipe please, even though I don’t have an orange tree. And I never drink tea. Except herbal occasionally.
This is the recipe I make. It’s by Julie Goodwin, who won the first Australian MasterChef, 10 years ago. I have all her books and they are great. This is not her website though. http://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/julie-goodwins-orange-syrup-cake-507086

Oh, thank you for that. I shall definitely take a look.
Pleasingly delapidated!
Indeed. A charm of its own.
Fabulous. I need one of these — though I do more pottering than potting.
I do most of my potting up outside – no spiddies there (or at least none that can get into my hair…)
I’m not too bad with spiders (at least here in NZ where they’re mostly not lethal), but moths bother me. And ants. And rodents. Especially rodents.
Let’s not go there…
Rusty tin roofs are SO photogenic and paintable too
There is one close to me that has a green roof.
Bet you have a photo of it!
Actually, I don’t! But I can see out out of my window.
