This month Becky (the Queen of Squares) has challenged us to find lines. In Squares naturally. That is the only proper ‘rule’. I have been dipping into the archives for this one, as well as finding local lines.

October Squares | Day Four

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

A lovely image of the cages, and I am pleased to see that they are empty.
I think there is nothing sadder than a caged bird.
Best wishes, Pete. x
Totally agree Pete. If you click on the link you will find out what it is all about.
Looks very familiar to me. Did you notice you can hear birdsong when you’re there, reflecting the missing birds, and at night, the birdsong is different to match the nocturnal birds?
I never went there at night, but yes I do remember the birdsong. It is a lovely installation and I believe it was your photos that inspired me to find it ๐
I’m glad my photos made you aware of it. I didn’t know about it for years.
One of the best things about blogging is all the things you discover
Very true!
That is quite interesting! Thank you for sharing!
I would have liked to see and hear this installation.
oh wow what an extraordinarily evocative art installation . . .must have been so moving to see and hear.
It’s still there I believe if you fancy a trip downunder ๐
We were only discussing a trip there today!
Wow, fantastic lines!
Will have to wait till I’m on the laptop to fully appreciate but it’s a beautiful pic ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๏ธ๐ฆ๐
Oh, I love this….beautifully captured and a tad mysterious
I walked down this alley last year and thought this was a wonderful installation.
Sydney is an attractive city.
That’s just what I thought. I joined a walking tour and I saw parts of the city that I might otherwise have missed.
Always a good way to see a city that you don’t know. Then you can go back to the bits you loved.
Lovely image Jude. Thanks for the link. I do go to Sydney occasionally and Iโll add this to my list of art to see next time; it looks amazing.
