October Squares | Day Twenty-Six

This month Becky (the Queen of Squares) has challenged us to find lines. In Squares naturally. That is the only proper ‘rule’. I have been dipping into the archives for this one, as well as finding local lines.

October Squares | Day 26

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. Do you know I have never been to Cascais!! Just loving the calรงada portuguesa, maybe the best pavement lines ever ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. You haven’t? It is lovely. I could live there. Nice park, some good restaurants and lovely walks along the coast, plus easy train ride to Lisbon and bus ride to Sintra. I suspect it might be expensive though because of that.

      1. our French Australian neighbours in Portugal lived there for a while, and loved it but decided winters in the south were a better option!

      1. There are so many places on my list……maybe we’ll visit in December if there’s a GE. Anything to avoid the politics!

  2. I was wondering where that was, and discarding Alicante, which it slightly resembles. Of course, why would it be in Spain? Portugal is your default!

    1. I haven’t really spent much time in Spain Margaret. Only a brief visit to Barcelona, a week in Algerciras a long time ago and a week in Madrid even longer ago! On the other hand I haven’t spent much time in Portugal either! But I like what I saw. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Expensive, and damp in winter according to my Lisbon neighbours. You’ll have to come south ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

    1. It is the greyness that gets me down. I don’t mind cold with sun and blue skies, you can wrap up for that, but grey and wet are just horrible.

  4. Lovely wavy lines! I’ve glanced at the other comments and many of you are afflicted with rather horrible weather. My sympathies to you all. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  5. The construction of those lines had to have been a nightmare to make it flow so effortlessly! Craftsmanship like that just isn’t done here – too expensive to make – but it’s so beautiful!

    1. Portugal is famous for these beautiful pavements, they are a bit of a nightmare int he rain though! Not to mention playing tricks with your vision ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. I’ll get to experience that for myself in a couple of weeks. We will be heading to Lisbon and then Faro … my first time in Portugal ๐Ÿ™‚
