KindA nostalgic
KindaSquare is the theme this month as Becky is hoping we might, in the final squares of 2020, encourage and promote kindness. A year I don’t think any of us will forget in a hurry. Time’s running out so if you want to join in just click on the link.
I wish I knew!
It is scary how fast time passes after you pass that ‘certain age’.
Best wishes, Pete. x
Quite.
Time is flying by!
I think we’ll all be glad to see the back of 2020, but will 2021 be any better? 🙄
I am amazed that it is almost October Squares time’s up 😦
I know! And it means winter for us 😭
Winter drawers on Jude?
Hehe.. just long sleeve t-shirts. My wardrobe is pretty much the same all year round! 😂
Just the other day I referred someone to the version of the song I first heard, back in the late 1960s, sung by Judy Collins [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4loOplI_tA].
Been a long time since I heard Judy Collins, a lovely voice and mostly associated with ‘Both sides Now’
Judy Collins popularized both of those songs, which, like most of the songs she sang, other people wrote. Less well known is that she wrote good songs of her own, too. You can listen to one at [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R04d-XAA_EQ].
I don’t remember her, but I do know what you mean. You’ve set me off thinking of the Nimble advert, Bleep and Booster and Cresta being really frothy, man.
Across the morning sky, the birds will all be leaving
How do they know, it’s time for us to go…
I love this 🙂 🙂
I am impressed you know the words
“And I am not alone while my love is near me
And I know it shall be so, until it’s time to go
So come the storms of Winter and then the birds in Spring again
I do not fear the time, for who knows how my love grows, and
who knows where the time goes?”
I’m singing along 🤗💕
I’d never heard this song, so thanks for introducing it to me. It really is perfect for the times
It is a lovely song.
It is. And thanks to You Tube, I’m exploring the Fairport Convention back-catalogue 🙂
Haha… I started listening to Judy Collins, Sandy Denny and Carol King!
All great choices. I’ve been going through an Annie Lennox phase. I definitely have a bias towards female musicians — particularly vocalists — in my music collection.
Yes, we’re almost into the last month of spring already and I have planted my summer annuals. I don’t know Sandy Denny. Is she a UK performer?
She was popular in the late 60s, lead singer of Fairport Convention. She died in 1978. Folk / rock. A beautiful voice.
That explains it – a little before my time. 😀
I am also wondering!
