Bench Challenge Anniversary

Way back in 2015 – yes that really is ten years ago – I decided to post photos of the numerous benches sitting in my folders. It seemed that I was not alone and suddenly it turned into the Bench Challenge where I set a particular criterion each month and people joined in posting their bench photos. It was a lot of fun and I met a lot of wonderful bloggers through it.

This year I am returning to mark the occasion by posting a bench photo every Sunday. There will not be any particular theme set this year so it’s not really much of a challenge, but if there is anyone out there who still has a bucketful of bench photos and would like to join me, then please do so by adding a link in the comments or a link to my post in yours (a pingback) and I will happily pop along to admire.

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. Darn! I always forget about benches until I open the Reader on Sunday mornings, and there you are, Sitting pretty! Have a lovely day, Jude.

    1. These particular benches are so low that it is difficult to sit down and even more difficult to get out of 🫒

        1. Tanking down! Walk cancelled again. It’s quite funny really, unless you’re a visitor. Especially as it’s nice in the UK. April showers here, but harder! Supposed to be playing petanque this afternoon. My first go but I’m half hoping it’ll be cancelled. Landed on my wrist and it’s alright, but… Maybe I’ll be a good left hander xx

      1. I understand. I had some back trouble many years ago but it still likes to act up. If it’s difficult to get out of then I would be looking for a different spot!

  2. The deep curve does make that bench look very relaxing, and would compensate fot it having no arms. But I take your point about being able to comfortably sit on it and stand up again.

    Best wishes, Pete. x
