Way back in 2015 – yes that really is ten years ago – I decided to post photos of the numerous benches sitting in my folders. It seemed that I was not alone and suddenly it turned into the Bench Challenge where I set a particular criterion each month and people joined in posting their bench photos. It was a lot of fun and I met a lot of wonderful bloggers through it.

This year I am returning to mark the occasion by posting a bench photo every Sunday. There will not be any particular theme set this year so it’s not really much of a challenge, but if there is anyone out there who still has a bucketful of bench photos and would like to join me, then please do so by adding a link in the comments or a link to my post in yours (a pingback) and I will happily pop along to admire.
So cheerful, this one! Consulting the map and good to go! Happy Sunday, Jude xx
I thought they were consulting their phones! But of course they could be doing that map-on-phone thing, which I don’t. Happy Sunday … and walking, with or without map!
Well, yes… I didn’t mean it literally, and I do use my Google maps, if rather badly. They just look as if they’re planning something fun. Happy Sunday back at you, Margaret. My Sunday is as yet unwritten xx
But will there be a bench in your post … ? xx
Bench probably too wet to sit on. We still seem to be at the April showers stage xx
Gosh, what a topsy-turvy world. Dry as a bone here … xx
The flowers don’t quite know what’s going on, but are very grateful. I’m off out to play petanque and celebrate a friend’s birthday. Hopefully staying dry xx
Take your βοΈand enjoy xx
Well they have their hiking boots on so very probable.
A happy May morning scene. Mine celebrates a May morning too: https://margaret21.com/2025/05/04/a-bench-at-dawn/
Love the idea of showcasing benches. I must have a look in my archives.
Those Dartmouth benches are my kind of bench. Nicely spaced, sturdy, and good armrests.
Best wishes, Pete. x
Quite! And in a nice spot too. π
I like the red leaves / red jacket combo.
Serendipity!
As Anabel said!
