During July I will be joining in with Becky’s SimplyRed Squares.

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling. View all posts by Heyjude

They look juicy…
Nothing like the ones you get in the supermarket.
Are they freshly picked?
These were in a market in Barcelona. I didn’t buy any, but I have had the occasion to eat fresh strawberries in Spain and they were not only enormous but also very flavoursome.
Sadly our supermarket ones are not very juicy
Nor ours.
Very inviting!
So often the supermarket ones are quite tasteless.
Agreed.
Oooh. Quite a glut there.
Should have scheduled these for last week to coincide with Wimbledon!
Good point!
That’s a rather greedy lot of strawberries! Where were you? xx
Barcelona’s market
They look quite yummy Jude 😋
Didn’t actually buy any but they looked good.
Delicious!
Hope so!
for a brief moment I thought these were flower buds in an unusual arrangement!!
Yes, it’s an unusual shot.
The blur is good, as it takes a moment to realise they are strawberries. I stopped eating them years ago, when they no longer tasted of strawberry.
Best wishes, Pete. x
I agree, we don’t seem to have very tasty ones here. I do grow some, but slugs and / or birds get to them before me!
Yum! I still buy supermarket strawberries to go on our porridge in the morning but I try to stick to Angus or Perthshire which I think taste a bit better than the English ones – and loads better than the Egyptian ones.
Herefordshire do some nice ones, but the best used to be from the market I Ludlow, freshly picked.
Those look very tempting!
