Brightlingsea has a sandy beach called Brightlingsea Beach, which features colourful beach huts and runs along the Western Promenade next to Bateman’s Tower.

I am particularly fond of photographing beach huts and had a walk along the promenade on a very sunny though extremely windy day. The clouds were almost more appealing than the huts.

Behind the row of beach huts is a boating lake which looked a lot more attractive than on our previous visit back in 2016.

The huts along with Bateman’s Tower make a rather nice backdrop when the sun sets behind them.

One thing we weren’t short of was a dramatic sky.

Aren’t beach huts wonderful? Great pictures.
I do love beach huts. Especially colourful ones like these.
The little huts are quite lovely. I have seen lots of photos of beach huts but have never seen inside of one
Most are used to store beach equipment like chairs and windbreak etc. But some do have a kitchenette, seats and even bunks, though not many allow overnight stays.
Knowing they are storage and not for living shatters my idea of how wonderful it would be to stay in one. A photo of someones junk wouldn’t be much fun
Here is one you can stay overnight in

That looks like a good place for a short stay. Thanks Jude
The huts are pretty but yes, the sunset was very dramatically beautiful.

Bountiful clouds! I can just imagine you blowing along. That’s a terrific number of beach huts- very picturesque xx
I should have linked to you as this was a walk, albeit a short one.
I thought that with part 1, Jude, but it’s ages since I had a walk post up. No worries xx
As long as you enjoyed it.
Love beach huts too, but those clouds are truly spectacular. Fascinating what goes on in our atmosphere.
Cloud watching became a focal point of our days. Such big skies.
I can well understand that. There’s intriguing sky business in my post today too 🙂
Wonderful. You’ve sold Brightlingsea quite comprehensively!
Wait until you see the next post.
Ooh, tantalising. I’ll try not to miss it if we’re in transit.
It will still be there when you get back.
👍
wow these are more like paintings then photographs – wonderful
A very different look to my previous visit.
Those skies and clouds are amazing Jude. Goodness how many huts are there, they seem to stretch on forever
There are so many huts. I didn’t even get to the end this time. It was unpleasantly windy. And I only met one woman sitting outside her hut, reading a book and drinking a cup of tea. I expect in the summer they are much busier.
I like the Modernist weather shelter. Brightlingsea is looking so much better than I remember it.
Best wishes, Pete. x
Much better than I remembered it too! The beautiful blue sky and fluffy white clouds are very different to the clouds back in 2016! And this area behind the beach huts has greatly improved.
Hey Jude
Great pictures of the clouds.
We have such beach huts too in Sheringham. They are a magnet for photographers.
