Way back in 2015 – yes that really is ten years ago – I decided to post photos of the numerous benches sitting in my folders. It seemed that I was not alone and suddenly it turned into the Bench Challenge where I set a particular criterion each month and people joined in posting their bench photos. It was a lot of fun and I met a lot of wonderful bloggers through it.

This year I am returning to mark the occasion by posting a bench photo every Sunday. There will not be any particular theme set this year so it’s not really much of a challenge, but if there is anyone out there who still has a bucketful of bench photos and would like to join me, then please do so by adding a link in the comments or a link to my post in yours (a pingback) and I will happily pop along to admire.
You didn’t close comments on this one. I love the beach scene. Hope Genna can stay with you a few more days. Sending hugs xx
Genna goes home today. She has children tomorrow. Been good having her here.
Give me a shout later xx
👍
Been thinking about you, Jude. Here’s a link to a bench post I did earlier this week. https://lynettedartycross.com/2025/10/30/would-you-like-to-sit-for-a-bit/
Looks like a place where I could happily sit at the moment. Thanks Lynette
You’re welcome, Jude. Good wishes to you.
Another gasholder bench: I’ve done one before. https://margaret21.com/2025/11/02/reflections-and-shadows/ Like Jo, sending hugs.
That’s quite a disturbing view – not sure what to focus on. But looks good. And thanks for the hugs.
Don’t focus. Just let it happen. You’re welcome to those hugs. More on demand!
Dearest Jude I’ve been off line for a while so just caught up with your very sad news. I’m sending you hugs from down under and I can just imagine how difficult it will be without your beloved OH to share your life with.
Thanks PP.
I’m so sorry Jude. My heart goes out to you.
Thanks Dawn
hugs, and wishing I could be sitting beside you on a bench
Thanks Becky, that would be nice. One day.
No bench from me today, but sending you lots of hugs to follow up from my email.
Yes, thank you for the email Sue.
A sturdy bench, almost hidden away. I sent an email, and have been thinking of you.
Best wishes, Pete. x
Thanks for the email Pete.
