Cheri’s first post of the year is about Beginning. She wants to see what we see through our lenses.
As someone who divides the year into seasons I see the beginning as spring, when nature awakes from the cold of the winter and new life appears. Snowdrops are usually the first flowers to raise their heads above the frozen ground, so it is an obvious choice for me to choose the common snowdrop or Galanthus nivalis.

It looks like wall paper. Nice wallpaper.
I like wallpaper. 😀
I, too, like wallpaper.
That is an unusual effect Jude, but very pleasant. I like the filled frame, with little to distract in the background.
As always, Pete. X
Line drawing Pete, with some desaturation. I always find snowdrops quite messy to photograph as they are usually under a tree or hidden in a boring hedgerow. This year I aim to look at my photos in a different way 🙂
I always loved to watch for the appearance of snowdrops when I was a child, growing up in England. 🙂
I am looking forward to going on a snowdrop walk or two in the near future!
Well chosen Jude! And here’s to spring, and soon!! Lovely challenge response.
I remember snowdrops from my childhood too. We get something similar here – not sure if it is an actual snowdrop – only it’s never peeping out of the snow”:-)
Perhaps you can post a picture of it when it blooms?
Will do. That will be about July-Sept I think.
I love your spring, although not the topic of my beginning:

Our winter seems to be our spring this year: http://blogagaini.com/2014/01/03/today-1403/
What was your post processing?
Hi bagsia, I just used Photoshop Elements to create a line drawing and reduced the saturation to leave a little of the green tint. Increased the contrast to make the lines stand out more. Thanks for the like 🙂
I love your post process. Thank you for sharing.
