We were supposed to leave Scotland today and return home, but unknown to us when we booked to stay in Kirkcudbright, Β this was the week of their Jazz festival and today was the Jazz Brolly Parade. Now I don’t know about you, but I haven’t seen a Brolly Parade so this I wanted to see. Fortunately we managed to get an EXTRA day in our accommodation. So join in!

I see you don’t have to be able to spell ‘independence’ in order to vote for it…!
Spot on! That was my little ‘extra’ in the post – I wondered how many people would pick up on it π
I wondered if it would be rude or condescending of me to mention the spelling, but now that the point has been made … it gives me visions of be-kilted Scots dancing merrily, perhaps in a conga line, towards the Big Split with England. π
Haha, your conga vision made me laugh! Most Scots I have spoken to are dead against independence though.
It will be very interesting to see how the referendum pans out.
π Great!
well I really enjoyed the post – and love that spelling extra!! π β€
How very apt, Jude! And no rain, I’m happy to see π
Quite humid, but it stayed fine for the parade. Fitted in well for the challenge π
I love it when the opportunity presents itself so neatly. Was it a good gig? π
it was fun and different! I did record a video, but I can’t post videos on my blog. Not as many quirky brollies as I had hope for. Anyway we had an extra day which was good. Must put foot down tomorrow though as OH going to a gig in the evening!
Be safe! England mania has gripped our household π
Good journey home, though driving once you reach Shropshire is so slow it really bugs me π¦
We have no interest in football so shall be watching stuff we’ve missed whilst away!
Nothing like an extra day when you didn’t expect it. A real bonus to a trip. I got home late tonight, so unfortunately, someone beat me to the spelling issue!
Regards as always, Pete. x
Haha, you’d have thought someone would have mentioned the spelling wouldn’t you? Or maybe it was a pun, on account of the dancing going on π
I am delighted we got the extra of seeing the parade!
It sounded fun, and an obvious blog post! We were invited to stay the extra night so it would have been impolite to refuse π
Things do seem to fall into place for you, Jude. π
I will ALWAYS stay longer if I am able to! I enjoy being somewhere different π
And so would I.
We did, on a couple of fortunate occasions.
How lovely to grant yourselves an extra day’s holiday!
There are some advantages to being retired / self-employed. Not many, but a few…
How lovely to have an extra day, Jude. A Brolly Parade and Jazz Festival sound a lot of extra fun. π
And we arrived home to the start of the Arts Festival here so busy, busy, busy in Ludlow town…
Keeps you out of mischief. π
Love the misspelled sign Jude – lucky you getting the extra day!
Hehe, mean of me to highlight that! Always happy for an extra day away Tina π
Don’t ya love a good Tuba! Funny I took a photo of one in a marching band today for Vaders Day!
It is actually a sousaphone Kathryn (So my OH tells me) related to the tuba. Designed so it fits around the body so it can be played whilst marching. I was fascinated by it! Will take a look at your band soon. Still sorting out stuff!
I didn’t post it but thanks for the clarification ! π
You’re welcome – I’d never heard of it!
I had heard of it but I don’t know the difference : ) ~
