Last Sunday OH and I headed off to listen to some music in one of the pubs taking part in the Ludlow Fringe Festival. The pub was so packed, we listened from outside for a while, then decided to head home via a stroll around the water-meadow and the castle walls. It was the last performance of “As You Like It” in the castle grounds and we could hear singing at the end of the play as we passed by.
What did make us stop though was the sight of the sun disappearing through a cloud and creating that well-known ‘silver-lining’.
We waited until it reappeared at the bottom of the cloud to capture the warm glow of a sun setting. Though it probably had another hour or so to go before it did.
Lisa of the blog NorthWest Frame of Mind has decided to run a different project over the next 24 weeks. To try to show what is happening in different parts of the world (if you all join in) at a particular time of day. If you would like to participate you have until next Saturday midnight to post a photo or write about what is happening in your part of the world between 20:00 – 21:00 this week. I hope you’ll join in! See links for more details.

Wonderful sunset pics, Jude. Your first one reminded me of that old song. 🙂
Thank you Sylvia 🙂
Magical captures. Sunrise and sunset are my favorite times of day. You sure know how to photograph them well. 🙂
Still an hour to sunset, but with the sun disappearing behind the cloud it seemed to warm up the sky. I’m afraid I don’t see many sunrises as I am not an early morning person.
😮 Maybe you’ll surprise us one of these days. Only if you’re already awake. No pressure. 😀
I did capture one once: http://wp.me/pL5Ms-VE 😀
Thanks for the link. Your photos are stunning.
Wow amazing lighting on the sunset photos Jude.
Right time. Right place. 🙂
There’s nothing much to beat a good sunset photo! 🙂
True!
Ludlow does the business for you yet again Jude. I think you may just have to stay there!
Regards as always, Pete. x
Strangely enough we have been considering doing just that for now.
Great photos! 😉
Thanks 🙂
So pretty, I feel like I was walking along with you and OH. Thanks for sharing your hour with us!
Lovely matching palette – castle and clouds. Sounds as if your town offers plenty of entertainment, and a good variety.
The castle really lights up in the evening sun – a bit like Uluru! And yes, Ludlow is a busy little market town with its food festivals and arts festival and other gigs going on all year round at the Assembly Rooms.
Stunning pics!
Thanks Karen!
Just beautiful…that’s all…
The best things in life are free…
Oh yes…
