I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

A fairy ring! Reminds me of a Laurence Housman quote “On that other novels followed: but I still wrote fairy tales and dreamy poems of another world”
Love you photo 🙂
Thank you! What a beautiful quote.
Gorgeous photos Jude. The blurring effect gives it a magical, mystical quality.
Thanks Sue, that is what I was aiming for 🙂
fairy rings are magical!! and so is this photo! ( I’m rather fond of things like that) 🙂
I was so happy to see one! And thank you for your comment. 🙂
A very dreamy image, Jude. I often wonder if life is but a dream. 🙂
Thanks Sylvia – life is sometimes a bit of a nightmare, but we do what we can to survive 😉
Lucky you! Great find.
Cheers Seeker – I was so happy to stumble on this ring. Had to photograph it from all angles!
wonderful!
Thanks Yvette – they are so magical.
Nicely dreamy, Jude!
Thank you Sue – a little bit of editing there, but the fungi are real and so are the shadows 😀
🙂
Well found, I’ve only ever seen two of three!
I haven’t seen many either, I was so excited to see this one!
Wonderful pics Jude. We’re hoping to join a fungi walk later this month. Hope we spot a fairy ring …
That would be good! Where are you doing the walk?
Winkworth Arboretum.
Winkworth is lovely for the colours, though it may be better later in the month, but I don’t recall seeing any fungi there on my visits. Still if it is a specific fungi walk I guess you will have an experienced guide!
It is beautiful, Jude!
Thanks Aletta, they are so interesting and unusual.
