Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. You know how much I love the Norfolk Broads Jude, and when I think of serenity I always think of my days on the water there. Lovely photos (I seem to have a lot of photos of Grebes too) and I enjoyed your Haiku 🙂 I thought when I saw the ‘serenity’ prompt, yes, nice photo of the water and a short poem might be coming up for the ‘serenity’ challenge…just so you don’t think I’m copying you, but then I still haven’t decided, you know I’m always late for everything… 🙄

    1. Thanks Sherri. Now you are the queen of poetry so no way would I think you were copying my idea! More likely the other way round. I think we bloggers inspire each other to change things around sometimes. I thought of you as a writer friend, but then you started posting more photos (very good photos I might add) whereas I started with photos and now add more words. Waffling as usual – must head out whilst the sun is shining to grab some ‘season’ photos for another interesting challenge. See you later 😉

      1. Ahh, Jude, well, that is so lovely (and you reading anything I write always encourages me, you know that), but I don’t know about the queen of poetry, I just chuck a few words down in the moment and I haven’t written anything – poetry – in ages! This is the first time I’ve felt one coming on for ages…But you are right, we do all inspire one another to create in different ways. I started using my photographs to illustrate my blog posts from day one because I didn’t know how to access all those fancy images that other bloggers seemed to be using. I’ve always enjoyed snapping away but never got into photography in a big way, so when expert and amazing photographers like yourself tell me you enjoy them, well, I am always quietly thrilled! I was so glad to find the weekly photo challenge, love the way the right photo brings out the writing. And it really is lovely to read your Haiku 🙂 xx

        1. I wouldn’t call myself anywhere near an expert Sherri, but I am happy that you enjoy my photos. Looks like we are in a mutual admiration society 😉

  2. jude – great serenity entry – and rthe little structure in the lower middle was like an art structure and added so much interest to this gorgeous water shot.
