For the month of August I’m looking for a colourful bench
(This month I want to see photos of a bench that is painted or stained or otherwise coloured in some way. Not the plain wooden variety unless there is some colour detail)

If you would like to join in with the Bench photo challenge then please take a look at my Bench Series page. No complicated rules, just a bench and a camera required 🙂
- Create your own post and title it Bench Series: August
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Add the tag ‘bench series’ so everyone can find the benches easily in the WP Reader
- Get your post in by the end of the month, as the new bench theme comes out on the first Sunday in September.
My Picks of the Week:
Kaz joins in with a Sydney bench in need of TLC and another Sydneysider has red and green benches. If you haven’t viewed LD’s blog before then you are in for a treat. And yet ANOTHER Aussie, PP, has a red bench. Isobel has made me very happy by sharing the Book Benches that were in London last year. And more red and green benches from Tgeriatrix.
As always there are so many delightful benches to view, I hope you will check out the other links within the comment section.
I am constantly amazed at the benches you find…..I need to get out more! 😳
I had hoped that doing this would end my obsession with taking photos of benches, but I still see them everywhere and think “Oh that’s a nice bench”, SNAP!
You obsessive, you! Like me and decay…. On reflection, perhaps benches are healthier 😀
Very nice to find them yesterday in that heat, though I had to walk quite a way to find an unoccupied one in the shade!
Phew…..I stayed indoors most of the day, blame it on Uthoff’s
😦
I love these colours. Are you close to farewelling Ludlow?
Well, there is an issue of a public footpath running through the conservatory to sort out…
Inspiring – very well captured… 🙂
Amazing what angles you can get crouching down. Not very elegant getting back up though 😦
There’s certainly no lack of colour there, Jude!
Wasn’t the original bench I was going to post, but I walked past here last week and thought. “Oh, now these are colourful” so I went snooping around the back with camera a few days later. A couple in the courtyard must have thought I was a crazy lady, crouching down to photograph a simple standard pub bench!
Ha! I might as well carry a label around my neck – crazy lady with camera!
And here is mine for this week: http://travelwithintent.com/2015/08/23/floral-bench-in-gulhane/
Thanks Debbie – sounds intriguing.
Would be a pleasure to sit in this little yard…
My benches this week would have fitted in June(art effects) and July (unusual details). The thing is I didn’t even recognize them as benches… https://geriatrixfotogallerie.wordpress.com/2015/08/23/giardino-dei-tarocchi-2/
And they are wonderful! Thanks for sharing these 🙂
Oh those are bright! I hope it’s the kind of pub that does meals and lets you sit there with your children. I’m sure they’d love the bright colours.
Children and dogs welcome and the food ain’t bad either 🙂
These benches are very cheery. I see benches wherever I go now and even Mr ET points them out.
Oh, dear, it does take over one’s life somewhat.
In a good way!
These are wonderful & would make me want to sit & drink coffee!
I’d recommend the beer! Not sure about the coffee…
