Bench series #41

For the month of Octoberย I’m looking for a bench with someone or something sitting on it

(any kind of bench will do, but there must be at least one person, animal or object on the bench)

If you would like to join in with the Bench photo challenge then please take a look at my Bench Series page. No complicated rules, just a bench and a camera required ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Create your own post and title it Bench Series: October
  • Include a link toย this pageย in your post so others can find it too
  • Add the tag ‘bench series’ so everyone can find the benchesย easily in the WP Reader
  • Get your post in by the end of the month, as the new benchย theme comes out onย the first Sunday in November.

My Picks of the Week:

Some really cool benches this week inhabited by all sorts of subjects – it is obvious that a lot of people take photos of occupied benches! Take a look at a couple from Pauline: Inside Dunedin Railway Station and one inย Crystal Castle a fantasy world in Mullumbimby – how can you resist a name like that? Aletta joins us again with some amusing statues on mini benches that are bound to make you smile as does Lisa’s bench. Both Geriatrix and Isadora show us how to relax and Gilly visits one of my favourite places. Even the intrepid Canadian adventurerย Sue joins in (though notย intentionally) with a fabulous bench inย Montreal.

And two special benches: one from Liz, a nature photographer who kindly gave me permission to share this with you. Honestly it is hard to believe this is in London;
and a very sweet and poignantย memory from Sylviaย – thank you for sharing this moment with us.

As always there are so many delightful benches to view, I hope you will check out the other links within the comment section.

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

    1. Haha, yes, I was in fact on another bench. And they really were quite good ๐Ÿ™‚ Nice to see you again Tess.

  1. Jude my sincere thanks for your kind inclusion. Isn’t that bench a riot? The artist so clever with that sneaky squirrel included. Being next to the university I wonder if the inspiration came from an actual scene?

  2. Plundering the memory banks again, Jude! Lucerne seems to have provided some wonderful material. ๐Ÿ™‚
Amazing to see Debbie back so soon! Is Meg travelling do you know?

    1. Montreux! Birthday treat in 2009 I think. Yes, lovely to see Debbie, hope she doesn’t do too much too soon and Meg is busy beach hopping I believe!

    1. It is one of the photos that made me decide to run the bench series as I have so many (as you have found out) and they don’t always fit into any category. So I created my own category!
