What a wonderful treat!
I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling. View all posts by Heyjude

Ha, that’s a great treat to our liking! 🙂 The Red Lion in Stiffkey does many varieties on mussels, a visit in winter is a must. Lovely, appetizing image, Jude.
The Bookfayries are out playing with the giant fig leaves. Currently there are more on the ground than on the tree and we are pleased to see the sun again after two days with rain. There’s always something to do in the garden …
Have a lovely weekend,
Dina, Klausbernd, Siri & Selma
I had some lovely fish at the Red Lion, with samphire 🙂
Hope the sun shines for you all weekend.
Lovely shot. I love shellfish too!
I’d happily live on fish, shellfish and vegetables.
Magic mussels, especially the header. Yum!
Header is New Zealand mussels, amazing colours.
Mmmm, moules frites is a tasty dish, or my favourite – mussels in a creamy sauce with strips of smoked salmon. Your photos are fabulous – particularly the top one with the rainbow colours.
The top ones are from New Zealand, I have never seen such beautifully coloured mussels as there.
I like mussels too. I agree that they are best fresh, on the coast, but I will take them where I can find them. The London restaurant group, Belgo, always served up some tasty ones. http://www.belgo.com/restaurant/centraal/eat/
Regards as always, Pete. x
I bet they cost more there than these did.
That’s London prices for you, Jude….
Why we don’t live there 😉
Yum! You’re so right, you absolutely can’t beat truly fresh fish and seafood 🙂
And a view over Mounts Bay to St Michael’s Mount!
Oh wow! That’s definitely a meal with a great view 😀
Yum.
Double yum…
Your photos were a real treat, Jude. Yum! 🙂
Seems a lot of us like mussels.
Oh my. You can have my share Jude.
BTW Have you moved? Are you moving? So sorry I haven’t kept up with you.
I’m sure you have been very busy 😉
Don’t be a stranger though!
Have you ever been to Normandy, France? They eat mussels with a camembert sauce there that’s absolutely finger-licking delicious! Love it!
I haven’t been to Normandy, but I’d like to, though Camembert is not my favourite cheese. Mussels and cider maybe?
oh they have plenty of other mixes ! I’m sure you’d find your favorite!
