Following on from Paula’s challenge last week which was all about lines, the WP challenge this week is about curves. Curves and lines are important ways in which to compose an image, and draw the viewer in. Curves are also fun to photograph.
A curvaceous entrance in to the walled garden leads you to all sorts of curves
Outside the walled garden is a pathway lined with mounds of neatly clipped yew
and a very curvy bird bath
Taken at Berrington Hall in Herefordshire last October. What curves inspire you?
These are all such beautiful curvy images Jude I especially like the hedge, I love the pretty bird bath too
I love the bird bath! Wouldn’t object to it in my garden, but I do have a natural one for them, which attracts all sorts of birds 🙂
Yes I have a birdbath too but the crows dominate it
The crows leave mine alone but I have seen a pair of magpies enjoying a bath recently.
Do your magpies sing like ours?
No they are quite noisy, but not as noisy as the crows!
Beautiful curves!
I do love rounded edges! That archway in the first photo is so beautiful.
I love that archway and the lovely curves in the gate too.
These are absolutely gorgeous; the entry deserves my ‘like’ and the blog deserves my ‘follow’.
Have a great day! 🙂
Cheers,
Yousuf
I love walled gardens. They remind me of the one at Misslethwaite Manor. That was one of my favourite childhood reads. Great photos for the curvy challenge. Those yew hedges must take some clipping. 🙂
I have no idea where Misslethwaite Manor is but it sounds very Yorkshire and reminds me of a teacher I had in Primary school called Miss Micklethwaite!
It was where the little girl, Mary Lennox lived in ‘The Secret Garden’ novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
I would like to walk through that gate in the top photo – it is very inviting. 🙂
A lovely gate. I’d love a walled garden, something very secretive and secluded about them.
