A local one in Cornwall

A George VI in Shrewsbury
and another gold painted post box (a Penfold) this time in Lincoln in honour of Sophie Wells MBE a British para-equestrian who won three medals at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, and also a gold at Rio 2016 Summer Paralympics.

There are over 800 different types of post boxes in the UK alone. Perhaps you have an unusual one to share? If you do then please post it and link to this one in the comments or via a pingback. I’d love to see it.
Ours are pretty mundane. I like yours much better.
You said you’d post them one day and now you’ve done it. They’re fab Jude and I bet you have more up your sleeve. I always keep my eyes open now and only recently noticed that the one 50 yards from home is Victorian. Sadly it needs painting, it’s faded to pink, I suppose they only bother with maintaining the town centre ones.
I’d like to see the pink one! Haven’t got a Victorian one at all.
Well I did tell you where to find one 🙂
And I have already forgotten 😦
Boy, I have letter box envy. Absolutely adore that one with Mr and Mrs Brown.
Yes that one is unusual 😀
Oh I love these! Especially the queen posting a letter. And gold!!!!! I have posted one very cool one many moons ago… I will see if I can find it….
I’ve been watching Victoria on PBS and am loving it! I love the mailbox with the Victoria silhouette. 🙂
Yes, that is an amusing one – or maybe she was not amused at all 😉
these are lovely! thanks for sharing. got here via the Lucid Gypsy blog 🙂
Thanks for calling in and leaving a comment, much appreciated 🙂
My favourite is the Ardeonaig fixed to the telegraph post. I hadn’t realised how many different kinds there are.
Nor me! Could almost run a post box challenge 😂
