March Square | Circles and Squares

Tiles in the Alcazar Garden

If you fancy a distraction from the weather this month then join in with Becky’s (“A life of a 40 something”) March challenge of square photographs with the theme:

  1. Squared Squares’ – think multiple squares and squares within squares
  2. Squaring the Circle’ – the perfect post will be a circle within a square

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

    1. No, the US would you believe? Up at Balboa Park in San Diego. In the Alcazar Garden which is modelled on the one in Seville. An amazing place with loads of museums and the world famous zoo.

  1. Ooh, I like this! 🙂 🙂 The Alcazar in Jerez wasn’t as colourful as I expected and very wet, but beautiful in it’s own way.

      1. I’ve been to the park twice now and still haven’t made it into a museum! I am planning many more visits – it’s such a great space. Today for my square photo I am showing something from the Japanese Garden. 🙂

      1. I think I saw a comment about a mummy daughter trip, it would be a great choice. I only went for a day from Tavira.

        1. OH and I had a day trip to Seville from the western Algarve, must be 15 years ago! (Crikey, hadn’t realised we’d been together that long).

      2. so do I! Had hoped to go last year but my sister-in-law was unwell so we didn’t make it, and this year we won’t have the time. Fingers crossed in the Autumn – wondering if you fly there directly and then make our way down to the Algarve.

        1. I might suggest it as our “mother/daughter” long weekend in late October, although Florence is also calling.

    1. Well Spain was ruled by the Moors for a long time and the Alcazar of Seville was built during Muslim rule.

        1. Well thank you Karen. Of course it has been known for me to refer to those oracles myself at times 😉
