Almost A Black and White Sunday

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling. View all posts by Heyjude
Brilliant
Love it! How did you preserve just that colour?
Do you know, I have absolutely no idea! Photo editing of some sort. 🤩
Even my technical ignorance guessed that!!!!
heehee… well actually there are some cameras that have a setting which selects one colour I believe. Mine doesn’t, or put it this way, I haven’t found such a setting in the bewilderment of menu options.
Wonderful!
That partial colour worked well in this shot, Jude. Nice bright orange, for a dull and wet Sunday.
Best wishes, Pete. x
Gorgeous here Pete! Sunny, warm(ish) and even the wind is more of a breeze. I know, I’ll pay for it later in the week 😉
😀 this just works!!
If only I could remember how I did it!
😂😂
I love these dollop of colour black and whites. 🙂 🙂 Somebody once explained to me how it’s done but I instantly forgot. 😦 It took the sunshine a long while to get here but it was lovely when it did/is 🙂 A small Open Garden treat this afternoon.
Been gorgeous here Jo, but I just worked in the garden for a while. Received a load of plug plants yesterday so have been rather busy potting them on! Hope it pays off.
Love it.
Thanks DJ 🙂
I love this affect I must explore my camera settings I vaguely remember seeing something about selective colour. This inspires me to find time to search for it
I shall have another attempt at finding the setting. Gilly assures me it is there.
There’s a lot on modern cameras that I never get round to using
True! I have found one colour setting, but it doesn’t seem to work for me the way it should. Spent most of the morning trying to fathom out what I am doing wrong. But it’s not the single colour selector anyway so I’ll give up on that! So many settings are hidden under so many menus. Why?
And now the instructions are on the internet and the instruction manual is the size of a novel AND hard to work out… thank goodness for the automatic button….
Haha… yes, indeed. I nearly always use the auto setting, apart from when I use the macro lens and then I often set the aperture manually. That’s about as much as I know!!
A brilliant one Jude and by the way your camera does do it!
So where is the setting then Gilly? I looked after you mentioned this before, but I can’t find anything that suggests one colour. Help!!
I’ll have a look when I go home. It’s a bit fiddly but I probably didn’t have enough time to work it out!
I’ll see if I can find it using Google!
In case you didn’t find out, go to ART scroll to the partial colour option, press ok. A rainbow ring appears on screen, use the scroll knob on the front right to select the colour you want to pop!
I discovered the partial colour art effect, but my camera doesn’t have it. EM-10. Would make it sooo easy! I also found out about colour creator, but that doesn’t seem to work either. I can select it, but the colour ring you talk about does not appear. Looks like I am bound to use Photoshop!! But thanks for getting back to me about it.
Ahh, mine’s an E-M10 Mark II.
So I shall have to upgrade…
A great effect, Jude and superb capture. Even if the editing -or is in the camera . is a mystery. 😉
Not possible in my camera. I must have used Photoshop Elements.
