It’s June and another 30 day challenge from Becky. ‘The Life of B’ This month she is looking for a roof or roofs or even rooves. Follow the link for the rules.
The red roofs of Bled Castle, Slovenia
June Square | 6th June
I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

Love this, Jude, right up my street, so to speak!
Yes, you’ll enjoy the older ones 🙂
A nice historical roof entry for the challenge, Jude.
Best wishes, Pete. x
I do seem to have roofs from all around the world Pete! Had a good rummage through the archives 🙂
Such alluringly red roofs. And even better against that clear blue sky.
It was very hot that week!
it looks hot!
Wonderful roof for Becky’s challenge.
Thanks Cee, it’s a fun one to join in with.
Very nice Jude.
Thank you Colline.
Glorious red against the blue and an appropriate colour for the name!
Yes, quite a stunning contrast. Quite lovely up there too, even if getting up is a bit of a slog.
As many have said, the colours are great – four basic colours = one striking image.
Thanks Anabel. I think the tower frames the picture nicely.
How did you get around Slovenia Jude, it is easy on public transport?
Flew EasyJet (I think) to Ljubljana and got a car shuttle to hotel in Lake Bled. Used bus to visit other places, very easy to do.
Thanks Jude, I’m trying to think of somewhere for September that’s affordable and interesting!
You’d like Ljubljana. And could get a bus out to Lake Bled for a day. Or Trieste or Zagrab.
