The new January Squares challenge, hosted as ever by Becky, the Queen of Squares, is all about ____light. In this often dull month light of any kind is what we all need to lift our spirits as we wait impatiently for spring to begin. Click on the link to find out more.
delight (noun) = great pleasure.
January Squares | Day Five
I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

ooh Pimms, now that does sound a great way to brighten up a dark afternoon! And one with Blackberry and Elderflower, you can smell summer from here 🙂
Shame you only see this in the summer!
This year buy an extra bottle in the summer and hide it as a surprise for the winter!
Now that’s a good idea!
Now we just need to remember to implement it!
First I need to buy myself a new calendar!
Blackberry and Elderflower isn’t real Pimms, though, is it?!!!
Well I like it! Real Pimms is a bit like sangria don’t you think?
I’ve never had Pimms before. Is it good? I guess it is if you call it a “delight!” 🙂
Fruity! Nice with tonic water or soda water, though usually with lemonade, but I find that too sweet. A bit like a fruity iced tea I suppose.
Nice. I hope to try it one of these days. 🙂
This blackberry version would by my choice of Pimms, were I to be given one! It would be like fruity ice tea with a little gin in it, is that right?
Now there’s a thought…
Pimm’s is definitely one of my summer delights – though I haven’t tried this version! 🙂
This was a few years ago, I don’t know if they make it every year. We’ll both have to look out for it.
Good use of ‘Delight’ for the challenge word, Jude. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete. x
Thanks Pete. I could probably do a month of delights!
Don’t mind if I do! 🙂 🙂
Sorry, haven’t had time to read the challenge post properly, but I will. Another busy day, and I’ve just ‘put Christmas away’ for another year.
Took me all of five minutes to put mine away!
I don’t think I’ve ever had Pimms, but I’d certainly be willing to give this delight a go!
I like ginger ale with Pimms — as you say, lemonade is too sweet. This flavour looks intriguing.
Ginger ale is good. There is a new one with spicy orange at the moment (good with whisky) which I like to drink on its own or with gin! But I’m having a dry January so all alcohol is out 😢
That would be perfect on a summer afternoon.
