Andrew of ‘Have Bag, Will Travel’ is running a weekly challenge all about photographs of washing lines. I knew I had a couple of rather lovely washing lines, but a look through my archives resulted in a few more. This one is from Venice. And probably my favourite.

Any image of laundry drying outside has a home-y comfortable feeling about it, reminiscent of childhood. It’s something I don’t see very often anymore. A shame really. Is there anything better than being dog-tired at the end of a day and climbing into a freshly made bed with sheets dried outdoors? 🙂
They do smell different that’s for sure.
Lovely sense of expansiveness, of fresh air and linen
