I know I am a little late for this challenge, but it’s taken me a day or two to sort out all the photos taken during our first holiday in two three years! And I think this one fits the brief.
This is as far as I got walking up to the Glastonbury tor on a rather warm day. My knees were protesting at the number of steps and although almost on the flat as I reached this point, I felt that I had got close enough. There will be more Glastonbury posts to come once I have sorted out the photos and found the energy to blog.
Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #149 | Blue-Green

I only made it up to the Tor once, and I was in my thirties at the time.
Best wishes, Pete. x
Yes, I could have done with being 20 years younger, when I was much fitter and slimmer!
I made MrB climb one cold winter’s day. He’s still not forgotten!
It’s not easy!
His thoughts too, especially when there’s a bitterly cold and strong wind.
Equally difficult when the sun is beating down. There is not much shade!
Ooh yes, not a hot day climb either!
Gorgeous photo, Jude. Worth the climb Iβd say. π
The way down was harder on the knees, but I was happy enough to reach this point for a closer look.
Yes, I always find going down again harder on the knees.
And back. I seem to lean backwards downhill!
Well, I suppose itβs better than going headfirst. π³
Haha… yes, very true! Things going OK over there? And your family in SA? We don’t hear any news from the rest of the world now π£
Yes, all good here and in SA. They are so slow at rolling out the vaccines there though. Dear not know whether weβll be travelling there this year, as we always do England as well and if we arrive there from SA weβd have to quarantine for longer than we normally stay . π±
Well, well done, thatβs way out of my league now, alas
Pretty much out of mine! We just kept going a bit at a time, but once I reached this point I thought enough is enough.
Well done you to get that far. My knees are groaning at the thought of it.
I wish I could have new knees and ankles – such a nuisance to want to walk / climb and then suffer for it!
I know how you feel
Never mind the knee pain – you got your photo!
I did. And several others from further away, but I was determined to get a bit closer.
Yep, that’s a good illustration of blue/green π π
You climbed up there?
Never been to Somerset π¦
I would have said you had since you went to Bristol, but I would be wrong. Apparently Bristol is not only a city, but a county! Who knew!
Live and learn π€£π
Happy memories of yomping up there with my then toddlers when my ex-parents-in-law lived in Glastonbury.
We watched a couple with a toddler climbing up, and couldn’t believe that the poor mite was able to do it, he barely seemed old enough to walk!
Sounds familiar …
A beautiful spot Jude, thanks for sharing it! Always better late than never – so glad you got to have a getaway!!
Thanks Tina, it has been a long time coming!
What a glorious day you had for it!
The best day of the week!
