There is nothing like observing the fresh new greens of spring and the stillness of water on a hot day to bring a sense of serenity: a state of calm, peacefulness, and tranquility. Inner peace and stillness.
I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

Yes, fresh greenery, warm weather and calm water. Lovely.
It was a hot day (for me 28C) so the shade of the trees was very welcome, even a bit of a breeze by the lake.
Oh yes. Our Spring Greens have really burst forth in the last week.
Already starting to look normal green. How I wish spring would slow down.
😕
Ooooh! Lovely Spring greens, and great reflected
And even a couple of deckchairs to enjoy the view.
Oh, yes!
That’s a lovely photo of a very nice spot, Jude.
Best wishes, Pete. x
I didn’t think I would make it to the lakeside as I had a problem with my knee so I was very happy to get there.
Beautiful! I can picture myself floating on that lake/river. Very serene.
It is apparently a popular lake for fishing, not sure about swimming.
One look at your image and the sense of the freshness of spring comes shining through Jude. Very beautiful!
Thanks Tina. I was happy to rest a while by the lakeside. It was a hot day.
Quintessential England…
Quite a dry England at the moment, although Cornwall has manged some rain.
That’s beautiful, and so many variations of shades of green. Restful and serene indeed!
It’s a lovely arboretum, but I had forgotten how steep some of the slopes and steps are.
Not so restful then!
You nailed the theme with this photo. The shades of green are serene and comforting.
Thanks Egidio. I’m glad you like the photo. I find green to be a very calming colour.
I definitely agree with you and that color. I love being surrounded by greenery.
