I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

Isn’t it beautiful. There’s a house in the next street with two large Christmas trees in their front yard. They always look gorgeous in December and January.
Oh that must be a wonderful sight. You have so many gorgeous flowering trees in the summer. Jacarandas and Illawarra Flame Tree, Queensland Waratah and all those flowering gums!

And Silky Oaks too. They’re lovely in flower in November.
Simply gorgeous! xx
Yes. It’s a beauty.
A new one on me. Lovely.
They are gorgeous in December.
Especially in flower-free December.
I don’t think they grow here. New Zealand and Australia. So mid-summer for them
I’ll stop looking then …
Lovely colour, and I have never seen one.
Best wishes, Pete. x
I have never seen them in the northern hemisphere.
Ah, great’
They look fabulous when seen along the coast or even in a city scene, I saw some in Auckland.
😊😊
Is this beauty from NZ Jude? What a show they make along the coast at Christmas time
Yes. They are fantastic trees and I was lucky enough to be there at the right time to see them flowering.
My daughter lives in Tauranga and sends me a photo of the ones near her each Christmas
Another fabulous red!
