Sports, Fun and Games

I haven’t really been a sporty person since leaving school where I was involved with hockey and athletics. With four children to bring up there was never really any time, nor money and my physical activity has been limited to gardening, household chores and walking. Not exactly sporty! Though I did once do line dancing. OK not a sport. Though pretty physically demanding. I don’t suppose board games count? Thought not.

Fortunately other people are. Sporty.

Surf skimming in South Africa

Funnily all to do with water. The last one looks fun, though I would probably break my ankle!

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

    1. It does look fun. I have only ever been in a rowing boat with my brothers when I was very young. I remember swans being a bit too close!

  1. We’ve seen the kids doing surf skimming here Jude but I didn’t realize it was a “thing” nor that it had a name so thanks for that! Loved all of your water sports which are a great fit for the week. Thanks so much for joining the fun!

    1. The surf skimming does look fun. I’m not confident in water, didn’t learn to swim until I was eleven, but I do like watching others enjoy themselves.

    1. I never go to sporting events so these are the best I could find. I’d be hopeless on a surfboard or paddle board. I’d never manage to balance!

  2. That surf looks very Australian Jude… Jack made skimmer boards for his boys way back in time, they had a lot of fun with them.
